Johnny has lived in Greasewood Springs on the Navajo Reservation for over 30 years. He pastors a church there and assists local families in obtaining basic food and clothing needs and encouraging young people to finish their education. He has helped many young people obtain their GED. He also helps students at the Indian Bible College in Flagstaff, AZ. The people in his community are struggling while enduring a multiyear drought in an already extremely arid environment, and increased gasoline prices. The closest grocery store is more than an hour drive. Food prices have also significantly increased. Johnny is hoping to visit us for 3 weeks in late June early July. I will keep you informed of the dates when he decides for sure. Perhaps we could organize a food drive of shelf stable staples if he drives instead of flying. Also there is a table in the mission hall where you can purchase pie fillings, and soon there will be aprons. I will soon have a new batch of pie fillings and sample aprons. All the proceeds are sent to Johnny Glover. Please let me know if you are interested in learning to can or sew these items. It will be fun!
