Frontiers was founded in 1982. They are working to fulfill the Great Commission by making disciples among Muslim peoples who don’t know the saving message of Jesus Christ. Their global priority is to focus on people and places with the least access to the Gospel. Teams of missionaries are recruited and trained to live in Muslim communities and bring Christ’s message to those who have not yet heard it.
Kevin recently visited us and spoke at a Sunday School class and during both services.
The Boots have recently lost the support of 2 significant ministry partners due to change in church leadership. In addition Boot family has faced recent challenges as the cost of living in Brazil has increased by 40 % in the last three years. Last month Kevin visited churches in the Southeast to raise new support. He was also able to visit family in Georgia. Unfortunately, the home of the Boot family was recently robbed. Fortunately, they were not home. The robbers took many things of value including a new phone, bicycles, some clothing, Julia’s new student computer, two iPads, and an older computer. Part of the home was ransacked. They were quite shaken, but got to work cleaning up the home, changing locks and filing a police report, reading the Bible and praying together as a family. The police were able to recover some of the items including Julia’s new MacBook Neo, and two iPads. On the ride home, Kevin found out the police men who had helped him were believers. They did not recover Karla’s new cell phone or the bikes, or some clothing and jewelry. Some of us make a recurring monthly donation to Boot’s, but I am sure they could use a little extra this month to replace the items that were not recovered.
