WHAT WE BELIEVE

  1. We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament as verbally inspired by God, and inerrant in the original writings, and that they are the supreme and final authority in faith and life. II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21
  2. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Duet. 6:4; Matthew 28:19
  3. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is true God and true man. Luke 1:30-35; John 1-18
  4. We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also that spiritual death which is separation from God. Hence, totally depraved, man has inherited and possesses a sinful nature. Genesis 1:26-27; 2:16-17; Romans 3:1-23
  5. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a perfect representative and complete sacrifice; and that al that believe on Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood. Romans 5:8-10; I Timothy 2:5-6; Hebrews 4:15
  6. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord; in his ascension into heaven; seated at the Father’s right hand; and His present life there for us as High Priest, Advocate and Head of the Church. John 20:1-29; Acts 1:9-11; Ephesians 1:20-23
  7. We believe in “that blessed hope”, the personal and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ prior to the Tribulation to receive the Church; and following the literal fulfillment of the Great Tribulation He will return visibly to the earth with his saints to reign during the millennial kingdom. I Thess. 4:13-18; Zech. 14:1-21
  8. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting felicity of the saved and the everlasting conscious suffering of the lost. I Corinthians 15:1-50; Revelation 10:1-6
  9. We believe that a person is born again by a personal faith on the Lord Jesus Christ; that at regeneration, all believers in this age are also indewlt by the Holy Spirit, baptized by the Spirit into the Body of Christ, and sealed by the Holy Spirit unto th day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30; Romans 10:9-10; Romans 8:11; I Corinthians 12:13
  10. We believe that sanctification is separation unto God and is three fold:
    1. Positionally, the believer was sanctified at his conversion by virtue of his union with Christ
    2. Progressively, he is continually being sanctified through the Word by obedience to that Word as he walks in the Spirit, thereby controlling the lusts of the flesh and producing the fruit of the Spirit.
    3. Ultimately, he will be completely conformed to the image of Christ when he sees his Saviour face to face.

    John 3:1-3; John 17:17; Ephesians 5:26; Colosians 3:1-4

  11. We believe that the church is the Body of Christ, composed of all who are born again during this age of grace; that the local church is to gather together for the purpose of observing the ordinances of Christ; governed by His laws; and exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word of the purpose of edifying the Body of Christ. Acts 2:1-47; Romans 12:1-8; I Corinthians 12:1-3l
  12. We believe in the ordinance of th Lord’s Supper and that it is the commemoration of His death until He comes, and should be preceded by self-examination. I Corinthians 11:23-31
  13. We believe in the ordinance of water baptism and allow a Christian to be baptized according to his personal conviction. Matthew 28:19
  14. We believe that the Great Commission was given to the Church collectively and to each Christian, and our mission is the faithful witnessing of Christ to all men as we have opportunity. Matthew 28:18-20; Romans 10:9-17
